Athena helps local authorities in order to grow the base of the pyramid of women’s sports in Israel, to expand the infrastructure for women’s sports, and to create more opportunities to recruit and retain girls in various sports, starting from elementary school age, at local authorities, close to home.

Athena allows local authorities to call for support through tenders and assists the selected authorities in creating unique, groundbreaking projects that make sports accessible to community and society through affirmative action for girls. In 5782 (2021-2022), Athena will support approximately 15 projects in local authorities
