The Public Committee for Advancing Girls, Youth, and Women in Sports operated from 2005 to 2018 under the power of Israel Government Decision 3416 from 2005. The Committee serves as a counseling body for the government, the Ministry of Culture and Sports, and the Minister charged with promoting and developing women’s sports in Israel. The Committee acted to promote policies that support women’s sports, including developing Olympic sports and formulating recommendations for advancing women’s leadership in women’s sports in Israel.

The Committee initiated multiyear programs to build a widespread infrastructure for women’s sports and promote competitive sports. The Committee also worked to change minds in the Israeli public on all issues related to women’s sports.
